Ann is a lawyer and a consultant who has worked in financial services for more than 20 years. She provides governance, risk and compliance services to Asset Managers, Private Banks, Superannuation Funds and not-for-profit organisations. Ann has worked for regulators in the United Kingdom and Australia and at Deutsche Bank A.G, Suncorp Metway Limited, BT Financial Group, Macquarie Bank, QSuper Limited and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Ann previously served as our Company Secretary and Compliance Adviser and developed our compliance framework. She is also an Ambassador for a not-for-profit organisation in East Africa and was formerly a member of the National Council of a major Australian development agency.
Mark is a talented lawyer and writer who has performed his one-man play How Deep is Your Love at Good Return events. In his play he shares how Bangladesh, banking and the Bee Gees became part of a love story between a man and a bank. Mark fell in love with the famous Grameen Bank, founded by Muhummad Yunus to give small loans to people living in hardship to improve their lives and create new businesses. Like all love, his story is as sweet and sour as coffee in Dhaka.
Gitanjali is a seasoned senior executive with over 18 years’ experience in leading and delivering HR and business transformational change for global companies. She has held senior roles in a number of companies including Ernst & Young, UGL Limited and currently Cushman & Wakefield. Gitanjali is passionate about social change and empowerment and also works with organizations across developing countries that focus on the education of women.
Diana Ryall was Managing Director of Apple Australia from 1997 to 2001. She founded Xplore for Success in 2002 to support professional women in their career success. Over 5,000 women have completed programs offered by Xplore from organisations including Amex, CBA, Deloitte, GHD, KPMG and NAB. She is the joint founder and Deputy Chair of Dress for Success Sydney, an affiliate of a global charity that supports disadvantage women seeking employment. Diana was awarded the AM in 2010 for her work in IT, supporting professional women and charity work.
Amanda is an experienced and highly respected business leader and Human Resources practitioner. She has over 20 years of business experience and expertise and has worked across industries including banking & finance, professional services, FMCG, Management consultancy and recruitment.
Heath Francis is one of Australia’s most consistent and successful Paralympic athletes. Heath has competed at the last three Paralympic Games where he has amassed 13 Paralympic Medals (6 Gold, 4 Silver and 3 Bronze). He is now turning his focus to advancing his professional career within Westpac and using his profile as a Paralympic athlete to increase awareness of Good Return.
Paul is a Principal of Aon Hewitt, the Australian arm of the global insurance firm. He works with corporate Australia on how to mitigate risk in the workforce to save money and how to unlock untapped potential to make money. Before joining Aon Hewitt, Paul had a long career in finance at MLC, NAB and St George and as a consultant with ipac and Deloitte. His expertise is in business and value proposition development.
Tharani is a ‘corporate social entrepreneur’ – who has turned her passion for social change and not-for-profits into a business practise at Deloitte. She has re-invented herself from a former ‘auditor’ to a ‘social entrepreneur’. She believes her international volunteering experiences and microfinance fieldtrips have shaped and enriched her life, both professionally and personally.
Fran is a partner at Clayton Utz with over 20 years’ experience in property and finance practice areas. She has acted for lenders, borrowers and insolvency practitioners, and advised corporate, major banks and other financial services clients in relation to project and asset structuring, finance and lending related issues. Recognised many times as a leading lawyer in Australia, she was also one of the participants on our inaugural “Trek to End Poverty” trip to the Philippines in 2014.
