Message from our CEO: Covid knows no borders

No doubt you are receiving a lot of information relating to covid, however we feel it is important to share how we are responding and continuing to support some of the most vulnerable populations during this global pandemic.

We are monitoring the covid situation closely and taking measures to prioritise the health and well-being of our colleagues and communities around the region. This includes working with field partners to assess risks to their staff and communities and develop appropriate responses, restricting travel, evacuating volunteers and some staff, and supporting remote working arrangements.

The Coronavirus does not know borders, or how much money one has. Many people will be impacted, but the communities most heavily impacted will be those living in poverty that have little in the way of financial resources to fall back on, and limited access to health care. For this reason, our work supporting these families is more important than ever.

We thank you for your continued support as we band together as a community to support those most in need at this difficult time.

On behalf of all of us at Good Return, I hope you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy.

Shane Nichols

CEO

How can you help?

Vulnerable people living in poverty will be some of those most impacted by COVID-19 and the unexpected financial shocks can be devastating.

Debt taken to cover bills can force families to sell their land and business, losing their primary source of income. They may also need to take their children out of education in order to work to help support the family.

You could help cushion the impact of COVID-19 for families most vulnerable, by investing monthly.

Your monthly investment will fund:

  • Financial education programs to develop improved money management behaviours

  • Access to digital tools to help people make informed and mindful decisions

  • Provide training to staff members in responsible and inclusive finance

Now is a time for urgent action and we thank you for your continued support of these vulnerable families.
