These inspiring women cannot be stopped!
The Maganda Makers Business Club continues to go from strength to strength empowering women across the Kimberley.
The Maganda Makers Business Club is an Kimberley Indigenous Women’s led grassroots initiative nurturing, championing and supporting Kimberley Indigenous Women in Business. It has been developed through a collaboration of Kimberley Jiyigas, Good Return and the Menzies Foundation.
With growing momentum and engagement from women across the Kimberley, the last four months have been busy with milestones and achievements.
During the dry season, Maree Cutler-Naroba, Maganda Makers Business Club Manager, completed a 16-day field visit through the West Kimberley meeting with 15 Maganda Makers. The appointment of four Kimberley Indigenous women as ‘Business Builder Navigators’ (BBNs) was also an exciting moment for the Maganda Makers Business Club. The role of a ‘BBN’ is to support and champion emerging women in business to take action, no matter what stage of their business journey they may be at.
During this time, the Maganda Makers also continued to create and build resources for business women. The new Maganda Makers Directory showcases the amazing cohort of business women and a community mobile-app is a space where Maganda Maker Members (Kimberley Indigenous women only) can create a profile for themselves and yarn with fellow Makers. The App also provides topic boards to support these women’s business journeys with tips, links and resources.
Business resources are vital, and the club has developed a suite of resources, including the 6 Foundations Business Start Up Guide, and a fantastic comic strip series (illustrated by Jan Morris) detailing the types of questions Maganda Makers might be thinking about before starting a business.
And it doesn't stop there…!
Look out for our next post on the launch of the new Maganda Makers Podcast!
