An inclusive data collection

Good Return is starting a new project in Cambodia and Indonesia to research the impact of our gender lens investing programs for women entrepreneurs.

Using local videographers and photographers, we will visit women who have received loans via Good Return local financial institution partners to speak with them and take footage and photos of their business. Over time we will visit the women to see how their business is progressing and hopefully capture the change in their lives via images and video.

“Good Return has a robust reporting framework for our programs” explains Impact Investment Manager Fifi Rashando. “By adding video and photos to our reporting, we can help our stakeholders really understand the impact of our work. We also empower the women we work to tell their story through their own words and with their own voice.”

As part of the project, Good Return has developed a reference guide which outlines best practice in using photography and videography for data collection and also how to adhere to ACFID guidelines.

Good Return is also employing people with disabilities to build on our commitment to social inclusion. In Indonesia, we will work with photographer Gerry who is partially paralysed.

“We want to give the opportunity for people with a disability to be involved in this project, and show that they really can achieve in any field they dream to be part of”, says Fifi.

To access the reference guide for video and photography or find out more about this project email Fifi or Phaikdey (in Cambodia).
