The season for supporting her
Nepal is a much-loved country, visited for its spectacular landscapes. the Himalayas and its rich culture.
However the positive impacts of tourism rarely trickle down to the poorest families who live to the south and east of Mount Everest.
The combination of irregular income and low financial literacy leaves these families vulnerable to loan sharks and an endless cycle of debt. Often the father in the family leaves to work overseas, risking his rights and sometimes his life to send money back home.
This festive season, Good Return is asking for your help to support the women in these families. With our financial capability program, we empower women to make informed financial decisions, plan their family budget and understand their legal rights. We help women start and grow their own business so they can build long-lasting and safer livelihoods for themselves and their families.
Support her this festive season and build a stronger future for the families of Nepal.

Crossing mountains to change lives
Good Return’s Consumer Awareness and Financial Empowerment (CAFE) Initiative is an innovative financial education program for people in disadvantaged communities. CAFE helps learners make good financial choices so they can plan for the future and take control of their money.
Good Return designs creative and engaging courses, activities, interactive exercises, and take-home challenges to develop a learner’s financial capability and confidence. Our curriculum in Nepal is tailored to local cultural settings and different levels of literacy.
Together with our partners, we deliver much of this training face-to-face. In a country like Nepal, this means our trainers must travel through remote mountainous regions - sometimes for many days - the reach the communities most in need.
Hasta from Chitwan in Nepal has long been a successful pig farmer, but was less confident about her ability to manage money. She took part in a series of financial capability classes with Good Return, learning how to minimise unnecessary spending and utilise savings for more productive purposes.
After the training, she felt confident about taking out a business loan, which she used to build a 6-room pig pen. She has also developed her understanding of how the business works - from tracking her takings to investing her profits in growing her business.
Help us to to support more people in Nepal
With your help Good Return can empower more people in Nepal - especially women - to take control of their finances. With a stronger understanding of money, loans and budgeting, more families in Nepal can plan for the future and make safer and more informed financial decisions.
A $50 donation will go towards building our digital curriculum so we can reach Nepali workers overseas and help them manage their money and understand their rights.
A $100 donation will provide one woman with 10 weeks of financial capability training as well as support to help her set up her business.
A gift from you this Christmas will make all the difference in the lives of a family in Nepal.
