A story of Good returns

Our partner in Indonesia, Crowde, are a young and innovative fintech dedicated to boosting opportunity for farmers. We decided to work together to increase access to finance and skills for women in rural areas, who are underserved by mainstream banks and often lack collateral and identity papers to apply for loans.

We trained Crowde’s team to understand the needs of women clients, and captured their responsibilities in a number of policies which are now being implemented. We also worked with Crowde to develop a loan product that is helping women farmers increase their yield and employ more women from their local communities.

So far, 470 loans have been made to rural SMEs, with 93% of the loans going to women. And Crowde are determined to maintain their focus of women, and support a growing generation of empowered women in agriculture.
