GENDER EQUALITY, DISABILITY, AND SOCIAL INCLUSION (GEDSI) SPECIALIST

Khristine Kay Lazarito is the Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Specialist of Good Return. Kay is a member of the Philippine Bar. She is passionate about community development and social transformation, especially gender equality, women's empowerment, and child protection. Prior to joining Good Return, Khristine was the Chief Gender and Development (GAD) Specialist at the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), a government agency under the Department of the Interior and Local Government of the Philippines, mandated as the primary policy-making and coordinating body on women and gender equality concerns. As PCW Chief Gender and Development Specialist of the North Mindanao Field Office, she managed the operations and strategic implementation of PCW plans and activities, which included but were not limited to information dissemination of gender-related laws, policies, and advocacies, provision of technical assistance and monitoring of the implementation, organisational gender assessment, and adoption of gender mainstreaming strategy by all government agencies under her jurisdiction. She managed the provision of capacity-building activities to enhance the capabilities of regional line agencies, state universities, and LGUs in the development of their mechanisms, frameworks, tools, policies, programs, projects, and services, thereby enabling them to be gender responsive.
