Sunita's tea shop grows from the right mix of training

We're inspired by Sunita who has used her financial education training to start a shop that is going from strength-to-strength.

Sunita is 23 and lives with her husband, son and parents-in-law in Nepal. After participating in a Good Return financial education program (CAFE) she was inspired to start her own business, a small tea shop.

One of the key lessons Sunita learnt from the program was the importance of taking small steps to achieve her financial goals.

“Initially, I started rearing some goats" she said, but she felt she could achieve more if she used some of her savings to open a small shop. Sunita is very happy with the performance of her shop, which earns her a return of 25 to 30% on her investment.

“My inspiration for starting these activities are CAFE and my family who supported and encouraged me to utilise my knowledge from the training."  Without access to Good Return's financial education program, Sunita may not have had the confidence or skills to start her own business and start her journey to financial empowerment.
